Their first Grenache. Normally it forms the base of their Three Birds Châteauneuf blend. No new oak – all burgundy, export capacity. Mid ruby. Very rich nose with spice and thick grainy texture. Fresh. Sweet and grainy. Very popular with the mailing list, apparently. (JR)

The 2013 Grenache Rossi Ranch is one of the many highlights in this extensive range. High-toned aromatics meld into a core of sweet red berries in a pliant, super-expressive Grenache with Zinfandel-like leanings in its slightly elevated alcohol. The 2013 was co-fermented with 9% Mourvedre (done with stems). In 2013, Mike Officer did not bottle his Rhône blend Three Birds; most of that fruit went into this bottling.
