Tasting notes
This larger vineyard on Atlas Peak has produced a beautiful 2018. The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard sports a vivid purple color as well as gorgeous blue fruits, flowers, violets, peach, and other exotic nuances. With medium to full-bodied richness, it has wonderful tannins, no hard edges, nicely integrated acidity, and is just a complete, utterly delicious Cabernet. I'd enjoy bottles any time over the coming 15-20 years.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard is a powerhouse. A blast of inky dark fruit and equally imposing tannins hits the palate first, making a strong impression. This Atlas Peak site virtually requires winemakers to pick late for the tannins to be fully ripe, but they remain imposing just the same. I imagine the 2018 will always be a brute. Inky dark fruit, chocolate and spice linger.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard has a deep garnet-purple color, opening with flamboyant notions of redcurrant jelly, black raspberries, warm cassis and Black Forest cake plus hints of cinnamon stick, rose oil and cedar chest with a waft of wild sage. The full-bodied palate is packed with black and red fruits, framed by firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long with a provocative herbal lift.
