Score 90-93/100 · Drink 2008-2016, Pierre Rovani, Feb 2004
The 2002 Corton-Charlemagne, sporting a nose of spices, Golden Delicious apples, and minerals, is medium-bodied, beautifully detailed, and pure. Slate, spices, minerals, and pears can be found in its concentrated, deep character as well as in its prolonged finish. This powerful, feminine, elegant wine will require some patience. Very, very exciting nose, with real richness. Full and round and totally flattering, yet with an undertow of dry, sappy, savour. Lots of lees, but very good fruit, too. (JR)
