Tasting notes
From a 5-acre parcel planted to Sauvignon Blanc in 1945, the 2018 Fume Blanc I Block To Kalon Vineyard boasts subdued oak aromas (it was entirely barrel fermented and matured), restrained herbal notes and exotic aromas and flavors of pink grapefruit. It's medium to full-bodied, richly concentrated and decadently silky in feel yet finishes long and vibrant. It's a true crowd-pleaser—approachable yet age-worthy, complex yet easy to drink.

A small step up (their base Fume Blanc is terrific), the 2018 Fume Blanc I-Block To Kalon Vineyard comes from the west side of To Kalon and dry farmed vines planted in 1945. Beautiful notes of melon, honeyed grapefruit, and flowers, as well as terrific sense of minerality and salinity, all emerge from the glass, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with racy acidity, good mid-palate density, and a great finish.
