Tasting notes
A drought vintage, there are just under 100 cases of the 2021 Fume Blanc I Block To Kalon Vineyard. From dry-farmed, head-trained vines planted in 1945 and harvested August 23–27, it's 100% Sauvignon Blanc, all barrel fermented and aged in 40% new French oak. Scents of struck flint, crushed stone and a distinctive fumé character appear on the nose, joined by notes of passion fruit, fig and nectarine. In the mouth, it's medium to full-bodied, generous and ripe, with a long, harmonious finish. It remains one of Napa's great expressions of Sauvignon Blanc and undoubtedly the most historic.

The 2021 I Block is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from one of the most important and historically significant blocks in To Kalon. The 2021 vintage seems especially well suited for this bottling. Detailed aromatics, fruit and structure are all amplified. This is such a beautiful and expressive wine.
