Tasting notes
The medium garnet colored 2007 Zinfandel Lolita Ranch off has an incredible perfume of raspberry compote, rhubarb and blackberry pie and sultanas with touches of Ceylon tea, dried roses, licorice and chocolate box plus a waft of underbrush. Very full, very rich and drop-dead sexy, it delivers explosive dried berry and spice layers in the mouth, finishing very long on a provocative earthy note.

Bright ruby. Sexy, perfumed scents of black raspberry, cherry preserves, violet and smoky minerals; reminds me of the northern Rhone. Lush black and blue fruit flavors are complicated by floral pastille and mineral notes, picking up soft tannins with air. Very rich but also energetic, finishing with excellent clarity and thrust.
About the producer

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
