Score 90/100 · Drink 2011-2031, Robert Parker, Feb 2011

From another Mayacamas Mountain site, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Clajeux Vineyard is slightly more expressive, but also reveals lots of minerality and a chalky, earthy character underlying impressive levels of black currants, cherries, cedar and crushed rock-like notes. Full-bodied with a boatload of tannin, it will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and should keep for two decades. Tel. (707) 820-1383

Opaque ruby. Pungent cherry-cola, mulberry, licorice and dark chocolate on the nose, plus a zesty note of cracked pepper. Sweet, sappy and full-bodied but lithe, with deep dark berry preserve, cherry compote and chocolate flavors complemented by a hint of licorice and a subtle cola note. Finishes with outstanding lingering sweetness and fine, dusty tannins. This wine gained energy with aeration and should be a fine cellar candidate.
