Tasting notes
Bedrock's 2012 Cuvée Karatas is a blend of 60% Semillon from Monte Rosso and 40% Sauvignon Blanc from Kick Ranch. Honeyed and voluptuous in the glass, the 2012 is a decidedly big white. Hints of almond, hazelnut, orange peel and mint add nuance on the racy, textured finish. There is quite a bit of oak influence today, but the wine appears to have enough depth to handle the cooperage. Still, it is quite clear the 2012 is going to need time in bottle to fully blossom.

(60% semillon from vines in the Monte Rosso vineyard that were planted in 1886 and 40% sauvignon blanc from Kick Ranch; 50% new oak): Greenish gold. Pear and peach nectar, floral honey and buttered toast aromas are brightened by dusty minerals. Round and juicy, showing intense pit fruit and melon flavors, velvety texture and intense spiciness. This impressively juicy, precise white blend finishes sappy and very long, with excellent clarity and a building vanilla note. Has the density to work with the richest seafood or poultry dishes.
