Tasting notes
A blend of 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier that was aged in 50% new oak barrels, the blockbuster styled 2008 The Dirt Worshipper literally gushes sweet crème de cassis, licorice, earth, and meaty aromas on the nose. This leads to massively fruited Syrah that possesses a downright sexy, voluptuous texture, loads of creamy fruit, and a light, clean finish that has you looking for another glass. This won't be for everyone and if you have an aversion to sweet fruit, look elsewhere. Nevertheless, this is a thrilling drinking experience and is perfectly executed. I would drink bottles over the coming 4-6 years.

The 2009 The Dirt Worshipper is 95 % Syrah and 5% Viognier. It shows pretty aromatic delineation and layers of dark fruit, licorice and sweet French oak. There is plenty of concentration in the glass, yet the oak comes across as a bit overwhelming.
