The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru les Boudots has a tightly wound bouquet with quite sensual black cherry, boysenberry and bergamot fruit, fine mineralité coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin that segue into a more grainy texture in the second half. I like the acidity here and the application of oak that feels seamless on the finish. This is a very fine Nuits Saint Georges that is one of the domaine's best.

Intense and very ripe. Into the black-fruit spectrum. But with attractive lift. Great balance even if not specially dramatic. Suave again. Good polish. Muscular. Maybe a little sinewy rather than with a massive charge of fruit. (JR)
