Tasting notes
Coming from Rutherford, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a terrific 2018 that shines for its richness and depth while showing the more fresh, focused style of the vintage. Cassis, plums, leather, tobacco, and chocolate all emerge from the glass, and it's full-bodied, with a round, mouth-filling texture and a great finish. Made by Celia Welch, this beautiful, elegant red opens up beautifully with air and will evolve for 15-20 years.

A new brand from Hess Persson (Hess Collection), the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon sources 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford and ages it in 100% new French oak, all under the watchful eye of consultant-winemaker Celia Welch. Scents of ripe cherries and licorice emerge, tinged with cinnamon and clove, and hints of darker fruit as well. Full-bodied, plush and expansive on the palate, it's silky and refined, with ample length and a softly dusty finish. For a debut bottling, this is special stuff.
A rich and layered red with redcurrant and cedar aromas and flavors. Full and juicy with lots of fruit. Hints of cedar, too. It closes at the end and says come find me. Fantastic new wine from the owners of Hess vineyards. Celia Welch is the winemaker. Pure cabernet sauvignon. Drink after 2026.
