Score 92/100 · Drink 2018-2038, Robert Parker, Apr 2014

This black/purple-colored 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon offers sweet creme de cassis fruit intertwined with hints of licorice and incense, beautiful balance, and modest, sweet, well-integrated tannins yet to be resolved. Full-bodied and impressively endowed, this 2004 appears to be built for the long haul. Although it may lack some of the 2004 vintage’s precociousness and early drinking charm, it is still accessible, and promises to be at its peak in another 4-5 years. It should last for two decades or more. Impressive! Tel. (707) 963-3358

Super-ripe and with some residual sweetness, yet also very tannic and structured. Lots of soft, blackberry, loam and toasty oak, then those hard-charging tannins kick in. (LM) $75
