Medium to deep ruby-purple, the 2014 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir has a lovely savory/earthy nose of black tea, charcoal and black soil over a core of black cherries and red currants. Medium-bodied, the palate is packed with red berry and earthy flavors, supported by silky, fine-grained tannins, and finishing long and earthy.
Mid cherry red with a pale rim. Heady, bitter-cherry nose. Very smooth texture and savoury, lip-smacking finish. Already quite open and approachable on the nose and front palate but with a little fine tannin on the end. Forest-floor aromas. Zesty but without a massive core of fruit on the mid palate. (JR)

Steve Kistler is a man who needs little introduction. He founded, and – for almost 40 years – made the wines at, Kistler. Since leaving his eponymous estate in 2017, Kistler has been focused exclusively on Occidental, his new, family winery on the outer edges of the Sonoma Coast.
