Score 95/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2017
All from a contiguous block of vines and aged 22 months in French oak, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville offers lots of blueberries, crushed violets, licorice and lead pencil aromas and flavors, hints of background oak, full-bodied richness, and a supple, expansive, concentrated style. It’s another beautiful, impeccably made, age-worthy wine from this estate to drink over the coming 12-15 years. While the 2014s from this estate are beautiful across the board, the 2015s are a clear step up. Pulling from their 45-acre estate in Spring Mountain as well as sourcing fruit from Oakville and Yountville, Frias is making some of the most compelling wines in the valley. This is a bandwagon you don’t want to miss.
