Tasting notes
A blend of roughly 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot, the 2019 Portrait Red Wine fits nicely into the Ehlers style of big, flavorful wines that lack a bit of elegance. Bold fruit notes of red berries and cassis are framed by ample cedar and vanilla on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is chunky and concentrated, without being overly muscular or tannic, finishing a bit coarse.

A blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, the 2019 Red Blend Portrait sports a deep purple hue to go with medium to full-bodied aromas and flavors of red and black fruits, chocolate, and leafy herbs. It’s another balanced, rock-solid release from this estate.
The 2019 Red Blend Portrait is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot. Bright floral notes, red plum fruit, mocha, cinnamon and new leather infuse the 2019 with quite a bit of depth. There is good freshness, too, which makes Portrait one of the more nuanced wines in this range of powerhouse reds.
