Tasting notes
The 2020 Chardonnay Lorenzo Vineyard is soft, with sweet herbs, lime leaf, fresh green apple, and wet stones. The palate is full of energy, with really refreshing acid. The palate is long and pithy, with delicate baking spice, and it is luxurious on the finish. Really stunning for its drive and tension, drink this white over the next 20 years.

The 2020 Chardonnay Lorenzo Vineyard comes from 46-year-old vines planted in sandy soils, and yields were only one ton per acre, resulting in high concentration. Its classy new oak spices give way to aromas of apricot, citrus pith, honeycomb, roasted almonds and pastry. The medium-bodied palate is silky and seamless with slowly blossoming preserved citrus and honeyed tones. It strikes a fine balance of hedonistic fruit and structural elegance and has a very long, flavorful finish.
The 2020 Chardonnay Lorenzo Vineyard is another very pretty wine in this range. Lemon confit, almond paste, chamomile and tangerine oil are laced together. An attractive tropical flourish adds character as well as complexity to this pleasant, engaging Chardonnay from one of the top sites in Sonoma. DuMOL now has access to fruit that first brought this site acclaim with Helen Turley's wines at Marcassin.
