Dujac's light-colored wines are a testament to how much punch a deceptively shallow-looking Pinot Noir can deliver. The medium ruby-colored Echezeaux displays sweet, plummy fruits in the nose and an extremely refined, silky-textured, violet and cherry-filled, beautifully intense flavor profile. Elegant, this delicate gem should be at its best between 2004-2012. This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29. Slightly less depth of color. Redcurrant, smoke and herbs on the nose. Silky but closed on the palate, though the flavors build with aeration. Toasty, lingering finish, with nicely integrated, ripe tannins.
