Tasting notes
(16.5% alcohol) Bright, deep red. Superripe, porty aromas of mocha, molasses and nuts. Fat, sweet and creamy but a bit over the top. This big, thick, peppery wine finishes with considerable power and strong tannins. I find this rather awkward.

The 2006 Zinfandel Mead Ranch is from the cooler Atlas Peak area of southern Napa. The wine has great fruit, full body, loads of cassis, and briery raspberry notes intermixed with some pepper, soil undertones, and underbrush. The wine has fabulous ripeness, full body, and a long finish. (Not yet released) Tel. (707) 963-0940; Fax (707) 963-8683
