Score 87-89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2005

Bright ruby-red. Blackberry liqueur and new oak on the nose. Sweet, dense and supple, with superripe flavors of cherry and raspberry. Shows lower alcohol and better acidity than the Nuits villages, as Meo's holding in the lieu-dit Argillas is a much cooler site. Ultimately denser and more concentrated than the Nuits, with a note of leather on the back end. This should be slower to evolve.
