The 2010 Vosne-Romanée is a very pretty wine layered with expressive dark red fruit, spices and menthol. It shows good depth in a weightless, sensual expression of Vosne. Here, too, the energy and sheer verve of the vintages comes through in spades. This is a great Vosne villages.

Quite racy nose and quite dry and savoury on the finish. Needs time! (JR)

Good bright, dark red. Lovely lift to the aromas of black cherry, licorice and violet. At once dense and juicy, with a restrained sweetness and enticing salty minerality dominating the mid-palate. Solid village wine, tactile without being weighty.

The 2010 Vosne-Romanee is a very pretty wine layered with expressive dark red fruit, spices and menthol. It shows good depth in a weightless, sensual expression of Vosne. Here, too, the energy and sheer verve of the vintages comes through in spades. This is a great Vosne villages. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. Jean-Nicolas Meo was away on the day of my visit, so I tasted with assistant winemaker Peer Reiss. The harvest started on September 22 and took about ten days to complete. Overall, I am a big fan of the 2010s here. Although I did not get a chance to taste the 2009s from bottle, my notes suggest 2010 will turn out to be the more interesting vintage.
