2009 Red Car Pinot Noir Dreamland Platt Vineyard

The 2009 Pinot Noir Dreamland Platt Vineyard wafts from the glass with sweet red cherries, dried flowers, mint and spices. This is a rather ethereal style that is at times a bit on the fragile side, but it is nevertheless quite pretty. A feminine, sensual finish rounds things out nicely. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. Carroll Kemp left a career in the film industry to focus on his passion for making wine. Kemp focuses mostly on cooler-climate sites and tends to pick on the early side. The wines are made with native yeasts in a style that emphasizes juiciness and approachability, but also structure. Vivid red. Complex, floral-accented nose offers candied red fruits, Asian spices, cola and flowers. Juicy and on the plump side, with a spicy element energizing the bright red fruit. Shows excellent precision and persistence on the long, sweet finish. This gained in depth with air while maintaining its vivacity.
