Score 92/100 · Drink 2014-2021, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jun 2013

Red Car's 2011 Pinot Noir Heaven and Earth Bohemian Station Vineyard is the juiciest and most overt of these 2011 Pinots. Open, pliant and expressive, the 2011 caresses the palate with expressive dark red fruit. Spice and floral notes appear later, adding depth and complexity. Given the cold goring season, the additional depth from this site is welcome, as gives the wine an additional level of richness and volume that is undeniably appealing.

Bright ruby. Fresh strawberry and raspberry on the nose and palate, with candied rose, star anise and vanilla bean notes adding complexity. Juicy, finely etched red fruit flavors show very good depth and vivacity, with a deeper note of mocha emerging on the back end. Closes on a refreshingly bitter rhubarb note, with excellent power and focus.
