Slightly less expensive, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Head in the Clouds (there's 17% Petit Verdot in the blend) is also deeply colored and has an expressive bouquet of blackcurrants, blueberries, scorched earth, graphite, and violets. It's slightly more upfront and approachable compared to the Cemetery release, with juicy, youthful fruit, full-bodied richness, and sweet tannins, and it should drink nicely for 15+ years or more. It's another terrific wine from this estate that's well worth seeking out.

The 2016 Head in the Clouds is fabulous. Rich, dense and powerful, with terrific fruit intensity, the 2016 offers tremendous nuance and class. The inclusion of 16% Petit Verdot works beautifully in adding layers of floral and savory nuance to a core of Cabernet Sauvignon, but without overpowering the wine. Plum, sage, mint, iron and white pepper add further shades of nuance. I would give the 2016 a few years in bottle to soften. Today, the tannins are pretty imposing.

Made up of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Head In The Clouds has a deep purple-black color and reveals bold notions of crushed black plums, chocolate-covered cherries, crème de cassis and cinnamon stick with nuances o f lilacs, cloves and wild thyme. Full-bodied and vibrating with energetic black fruits and spicy layers, it has a firm backbone of ripe, grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing with a lingering menthol lift.
