Good medium red. Musky, reticent nose hints at black cherry, cilantro, menthol and sexy oak spices. Quite backward and medicinal on the palate, with youthfully imploded black cherry and pepper flavors joined by camphor and herbal nuances on the seriously tannic finish. Quite dry and uncompromising.

(entirely from the Morey side of this appellation) Good deep red-ruby. Complex aromas of dark raspberry, menthol, minerals, wild herbs and spices. Supple on entry, then broad, fresh, concentrated and classically dry in the middle. Turns sweeter on the back end, which features big, mouthdusting tannins and a flavor of blueberry. Magnien notes that these 30-to-55-year-old vines have a tendency to produce large grapes, and that in the future he will improve pruning to get larger bunches but smaller berries.
