Tasting notes
Sourced from high-elevation vines at 1100 feet that were planted in 1990, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Rosso Vineyard boasts a magenta/purple color and offers vibrant, lifted notes of cassis, graphite, candied flowers, and wet stones. It maintains a refreshing feel throughout the palate, with refined tannins and a linear texture, a medium to full-bodied frame and a slowly tapering finish. It’s a fantastic wine with a lifted feel and mineral underpinnings. While it’s not the heftiest of Cabernets, it has a tremendous amount to offer over the coming 15 years.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Rosso Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1993 at 1,000 feet of elevation. It opens very slowly on the nose to reveal boysenberry, juniper, violet, grilled beef, cast iron and botanical undertones. The medium-bodied palate pairs concentrated, floral flavors with supple tannins, imparting a seamless feel. It’s balanced by juicy acidity and has a long, latent finish. It will benefit from 3-5 years in the cellar.
