Tasting notes
The last 2012 I tasted was the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon ‘1873', which is part of their Artisan Collection and named after Captain William Peterson, who established a pioneering winery on their St. Helena property in 1873. This is another beauty from Hall. Dense ruby/purple with layered blackcurrant fruit mixed with licorice, incense and forest floor, this deep, full-bodied, opulent wine has gorgeous purity and harmony among its component parts. Like so many of these wines, it has symmetry and density that are world-class. Drink over the next 20 years.

Hall's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is laced with attractive plum, mocha, licorice, spices and menthol notes. This juicy, highly expressive Cabernet Sauvignon is shaping up beautifully. It should drink well pretty much upon release.
