Tasting notes
Saturated dark red. Darker aromas than the Missouri Hopper: red- and blackcurrant, black raspberry, licorice and burning embers. Denser and sweeter too, with good concentration and chewiness to the slightly grapey fruit flavors. Finishes with broad, tongue-coating tannins and very good length. This is silkier than the Missouri Hopper but also has more vibrancy. The Debate is a project of Jean Hoefliger, who is responsible for making the Alpha Omega wines.

A burst of dark blueberries, smoke, tobacco, incense and spices hits the palate in the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon. Rich, intense and structured, the 2010 boasts serious intensity and pure depth. A rush of exotic flowers and blue/blackish fruit on the finish leaves a lasting impression.
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard possesses a similar dense opaque purple color, slightly sweeter creme de cassis and boysenberry fruit, terrific purity, a full-bodied texture, silky tannin and nicely integrated wood and acidity. This beauty should drink well for 10-15 years. These are the first wines I have tasted from The Debate winery, but they certainly have two high quality sources for their Cabernet Sauvignon. Tel.
