Score 93/100 · Drink 2016-2031, Robert Parker, Oct 2016

The 2013 INEO is a proprietary red and cuts a somewhat lighter mouthfeel, with elegant blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, some loamy soil notes, and touches of forest floor and spice. It is medium to full-bodied, generous and ideal for drinking over the next 15+ years.

The 2013 Ineo, Staglin's Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc, is also the most forward and opulent wine in the range. Rich and voluptuous in its expression, the Ineo exudes considerable richness, with generous dark-fleshed stone fruits, mocha and sweet spices. The 2013 was fermented in barrel which gives the wine distinct contours as well as a strong new oak imprint. If the oak integrates a bit more fully the 2013 could turn out to be even better than this note suggests.

The 2013 Ineo is a big step up from the 2012 in many respects, not the least of which is the better integration of the French oak. A dark, intense wine, the 2013 races across the palate with dark red and black stone fruits, mocha, menthol, leather and licorice. The flavors literally jump from the glass as this super-expressive, delineated wine shows off its considerable personality.

The 2013 Ineo shows off the natural intensity of the year in its rich, dark fruit and plush contours. Like the Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2013 Ineo is a very young wine. There's a bit more new oak here, but it works quite well with the style of the wine. The 2013 has turned out beautifully.
