Helen Keplinger's 2014 Fuego y Mar, 100% Syrah from Côte-Rôtie and Hermitage clones, is a total knock-out. Intensely perfumed, aromatic and vibrant, the 2014 possesses striking aromatic nuance that plays off the huge fruit. A host of graphite, lavender, cured meats, smoke and crème de cassis notes build into the textured, voluptuous finish. The oak needs time to fully integrate. Even so, the 2014 is exceptionally vivid and beautiful today.

The 2014 Fuego y Mar looks like a real knock-out. Sweet, floral and beautifully perfumed, the Fuego y Mar is a wine of pure deliciousness. Expressive floral notes add brightness to the dark red fruit, but above all else, the Fuego y Mar is all about feel. And there is plenty of that here. This could turn out to be one of the very best wines in the lineup.
