This has a big, aromatic and sweet nose of briary, cherry fruit, sage, spice and ripe herbs. Full bodied and with a thick texture, this has sweet fruit and a long finish.

Dark red. Liqueur-like crushed blackberry and sappy cherry on the nose. Compellingly sweet and vibrant, with a chewy underlying mineral character giving shape to the superripe berry flavors. This has superb fruit. Finishes fat and very long, with creamy tannins and the structure to age.
Readers looking for more raisiny, sweeter fruit should check out the 2005 Zinfandel Dusi Vineyard. It reveals an overripe character bordering on Amarone-like, but lacks depth, concentration, and intensity. Previously recommended: As indicated last year, 2004 was a terrific vintage for Turley Zinfandels. If they can still be found, I would opt for purchasing them over their lighter 2005 counterparts.
