Good bright red. Raspberry and peppery herbs on the nose; Clavelier frequently describes this cuvee as virile. Less supple than the Combe Brulee and a bit youthfully imploded today, but boasts excellent balance and force to its sweet raspberry and pepper flavors. Finishes with a distinct chalky firmness.

(racked ten days before my visit): Bright red. Cherry and raspberry fruit aromas complicated by lavender, spices, garrigue and flowers. Juicy, dry and pure; at once richer and higher-pitched than the Combe Brulee, and less saline. Finishes with firm tannins and very good length and lift.
