Bright ruby-red. Vibrant, mineral-tinged cherry, red berry and floral qualities on the nose, along with suggestions of licorice and Asian spices. Sweet and energetic in the mouth, offering juicy raspberry, cherry liqueur and spicecake flavors underscored by a vein of smoky minerality. Smooth and seamless in texture, with polished tannins lending shape and subtle grip to a wonderfully long, spice- and floral-driven finish. Raised in a combination of concrete tulips and neutral French oak puncheons.

The Grenache-based 2018 Sensibility, from the Paderewski vineyard, contains 5% Syrah and was aged 18 months in concrete and neutral oak. Medium ruby-purple, it has addicting aromas of cinnamon stick, red and black berries, aniseed, dried flowers and loads of exotic spice nuances. The palate is full-bodied with explosive, ultra layered, spicy fruits supported by grainy tannins, and it finishes long with lip-smacking freshness and lots of flavor layers. How gorgeous! 541 cases produced.
The 2018 Sensibility checks in as 95% Grenache and 5% Syrah, all from the Paderewski Vineyard, and it was bottled just three weeks prior to this tasting. I always love this cuvée, and the 2018 shows the purity and elegance of the vintage as well as classic Grenache notes of black raspberries, dried flowers, and toasted spice. It's finesse-oriented, yet it’s rich, super-sexy, and just a joy to drink.
