Score 93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2013
(15.5% alcohol; 75% new oak): Good ruby-red. Sexy, expressive aromas of cassis, minerals, licorice, loam and roast coffee. Concentrated, creamy and suave, with the currant, licorice and chocolate flavors really sucking up the new oak today. Plenty sweet but nicely buffered by bright acidity. This expressive, tactile cabernet finishes with sweet tannins and impressive soil-driven length. Very nicely balanced and concentrated wine.
