Tasting notes
Chef Michael Chiarello makes these wines with oenologist Thomas Rivers Brown. The 2010s have always had a distinctly super-ripe quality, something that has only become more accentuated over the last year. The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Bambino comes across as over-ripe and lacking complexity. There is good depth in the glass, but not as much character as I had hoped for. The heat spikes of the vintage seem to have had a particularly strong effect.

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Bambino comes across as opulent and full-throttle. The black fruit skirts the razor's edge of over-ripeness in this forward, unabashedly ripe Cabernet Sauvignon. This is an excellent choice for drinking over the next handful of years.
