Tasting notes
Deep magenta. High-pitched, finely detailed aromas of raspberry, boysenberry and blood orange, along with suave floral and exotic spice flourishes. Seamless and energetic in the mouth, offering vibrant red and blue fruit, spicecake and candied rose flavors and a hint of licorice. The floral and spice notes drive an impressively long finish, which features polished tannins and a snap of smoky minerality.

The 2019 Pinot Noir X Novo Vineyard has alluring aromas of crushed cranberries and wild blackberries with wafts of smoked meats, dried violets and iron. Silty, bright and weightless, the palate manages a ton of intensity and layering for such an ethereal style, which is perfumed and less reductive on approach than the other Pinot Noirs in the Walter Scott portfolio this vintage, suggesting it will be at its best over the next decade.
Riper red fruit and much sweeter in character than the Cuvée Ruth, more intensity too. Volcanic-smelling reduction and cherry cola. Well balanced and complete. (SCJ)
