Tasting notes
Inky violet color. Displays intensely perfumed, mineral-driven dark berry preserve, incense, exotic spice and pipe tobacco scents that show fine detail and a hint of smokiness. Stains the palate with alluringly sweet kirsch, blackberry and cassis flavors that are complemented by suggestions of olive paste, candied violet and cracked pepper. The spicy nuance comes back strong on the penetrating finish, which is framed by powerful, steadily building tannins. Be patient with this one.

Powerful, spice- and mineral-laced black/blue fruit scents show superb focus and pick up suggestions of smoked meat, licorice and violet with air. Sappy, deeply concentrated and pure, offering juicy blueberry, boysenberry, bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors that are firmed by a spine of tangy acidity. Blends power and vivacity with a sure hand and finishes extremely long and minerally, with supple tannins building steadily and in harmony with the wine's assertive dark fruit. 100% whole clusters; all neutral foudres .
Highly perfumed aromas of ripe black/blue fruits, smoky bacon, olive paste and candied violet, along with suggestions of woodsmoke and exotic spices. Offers palate-staining, appealingly sweet blueberry, cassis, floral pastille and fruitcake flavors that show excellent concentration and are underscored by a vein of juicy acidity. Finishes sweet, energetic and extremely long, displaying lingering florality and chewy tannins that build slowly.
