Score 93/100 · Drink 2025-2032, Jeb Dunnuck, Jun 2024

The 2022 Chardonnay Camp Meeting Ridge pours a deeper golden yellow color and opens in the glass to reveal resinous aromas of beeswax, pineapple rind, and orange oils. Full-bodied, it has a rich, pithy texture and a salty undercurrent, with a savory slanting profile and a mouthwatering finish. It’s a structured wine with a persistent length to drink 2025-2032.

Lots of dried peaches, pears and red apples. Some bitter lemon. Peach tart. Full body, with a freshness, brightness and energy but always so much intensity. Phenolics that are powdery in texture. Plenty of fruits at the end, like mandarin and orange blossom. Ripe but not alcoholic. Special white. Drink now or hold.

The 2022 Chardonnay Camp Meeting Ridge shows how special this site is for Chardonnay. Lemon confit, orange peel, burnt sugar, passion fruit and lightly honeyed notes make a strong first impression. The 2023 is decidedly overt, and yet it has tons of coastal energy to keep things in balance. Readers will find a Chardonnay that exudes class from start to finish. This is superb.
