Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve from Oakville is a brilliant wine, and as Napa goes, has to be considered a smoking value. Crème de cassis, black cherries, damp earth, graphite, and spring flower notes all emerge from this full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, majestic Napa Cabernet that has sweet tannins and the purity and class of the 2016 vintage front and center. It's a step up over the 2015 and absolutely worth checking out.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve is another stellar wine in this range. Aside from being absolutely delicious, the Reserve offers superb quality for the money, especially by Napa Valley standards. Black cherry, chocolate, leather, smoke, spice and menthol are all generous in the glass, with the textural breadth that is such a signature of Eastern Oakville very much on display. This ample, inviting Cabernet will drink well with minimal cellaring. Fruit sources are Weitz and Fortuna.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve features vibrant blackcurrants, black cherries and redcurrants scents with nuances of cedar chest, pencil lead, lavender and bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is elegantly crafted with plush tannins and bags of black and red fruit layers, finishing on a savory note.
