Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve is a blend of fruit from the Fortuna and Leopoldina (Weitz) vineyards. Supple, pliant and inviting, the Reserve is a gorgeous wine for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Succulent dark cherry, mocha, new leather, spice, menthol and dark spice add nuance to the voluptuous, racy finish. This is another striking wine from Turnbull.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve offers lots of blackcurrant and blueberry fruit as well as notes of graphite, licorice, and scorched earth. Picking up a distinct violet character with time in the glass, it has full-bodied richness, a concentrated, firm, structured style, good acidity, and a great finish. It’s a backward, structured, potential-packed beauty that needs 3-4 years of bottle age and will keep for two decades.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve has a baked black cherries, black berries and wild blueberries-scented nose with hints of lavender, pencil shavings and earth plus a touch of cloves. The palate is full-bodied and bursting with black berry and earthy flavors, supported by soft, rounded tannins and finishing with a hint of pepper.
