Tasting notes
A fabulous Syrah from one of the top sites in the Santa Lucia Highlands, the 2013 Syrah Rosella’s Vineyard is still young, raw and unevolved, and tastes more like a barrel sample than a finished wine. Crème de cassis, jammy blackberry, violets and searing pepper all emerge from this beauty, and it’s medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated and has fine, polished tannin. It should be at its best from 2017-2027.

The 2013 Syrah Rosella's Vineyard, from the northern reaches of the Santa Lucia Highlands, is quite pretty. Blue and purplish-toned fruits, cloves, spices, menthol, graphite and orange peel are laced together in a racy, voluptuous Syrah full of personality. The flavors are intense and bold, with attractive floral/savory overtones from the 30% whole clusters. There is a lot to like here.
