Tasting notes
Dark red. Dark berries, earth, smoke and game on the nose. Ripe and lush but a bit less sweet and fruity than the Carrie's, with firm-edged acids framing the flavors of smoke, iron, cured tobacco and earth. Finishes with more tannic kick than the Carrie's. But this gained in sweetness with aeration.

Approximately 50% stems were utilized in the 2004 Pinot Noir Terraces. It exhibits more plum, forest floor, and earthy, meaty characteristics than its siblings, but shares their sexy, seductive, up-front aromas of sweet black cherries, raspberries, and blue fruit. Full-bodied and plush with abundant glycerin, it reminds me of a hedonistic California version of a grand cru Clos de la Roche. Enjoy it over the next 6-8 years. Tel. (805) 735-7030
