Score 90/100 · Drink 2002-2012, Robert Parker, Aug 2002
The dark ruby-colored 2000 Pinot Noir Martinelli Vineyard Reserve (13.6% alcohol) is reminiscent of a Pommard premier cru. It possesses good acidity as well as a big, meaty, muscular personality with hints of sweet apple skins intermixed with black cherry fruit. It is medium to full-bodied, with excellent purity, and nicely integrated wood. This wine will drink well for a decade. Tel. (707) 525-0570; Fax (707) 525-9463

About the producer

Martinelli
Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
