Score 92+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Superripe, roasted nose features a stronger component of earth and a distinctly mentholated aspect. Huge but extremely backward, even a bit monolithic today. But this voluminous wine fruit, acid and alcohol seem harmonious from the outset. Like the Chevalier, this will also require time to reveal its personality.
