Pale, bright yellow. Aromas of orange oil and spices are fully ripe but come across as fresher and less evolved than those of the Charmes. A concentrated, sweet fruit bomb with orange, spice and menthol flavors dominating. Displays more energy than the Charmes but still shows the creamy side of the vintage and considerable early appeal, not to mention a distinct sweetness. This very rich, smooth Meursault boasts good balance and stuffing but is unlikely to make old bones.

Sweet white chocolate, ripe apple, chewy texture. Full-bodied but well balanced, though it is a little short on concentration and persistence. (RH)

The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières has a superior bouquet compared to the Meursault Charmes. Here I discerned more mineralité and complexity in the glass, attractive scents of yellow flowers, citrus fruit and walnut profiting from aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, impressive tension and quite elegant towards the lightly spiced finish. This is well worth seeking out.

Bright, pale yellow. Subtle, pure aromas of lime, peach and flowers. At once drier, less fruity and more backward than the Charmes, offering flavors of apricot pit, lichee, white pepper and mint. This youthfully disjointed wine shows no easy sweetness today but it should make a more intriguing drink than the Charmes three or four years from now.
