2009 Behrens Family Erna Schein Sainte Fumee Red

(36% each grenache and syrah with 9% each cinsault and tempranillo, 8% petite sirah and 1% each cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot; 15.2% alcohol): Good bright, dark red. Aromas of crushed blackberry, black cherry, smoky minerals, pepper and spices. Chocolatey in the mouth but tightly wound, even a bit youthfully tough, finishing a bit hard-edged today. Give this another year in bottle before pulling the cork.
