(15.2% alcohol): Dullish ruby-red; the least bright of these three Behrens Family Winery wines. Brooding aromas of cassis, kirsch and licorice are lower-toned than those of the Cemetery bottling. Fat, plush, sweet and fine-grained, but without quite the fruit or eclat of the Cemetery. Shows a strong licorice quality to go with its dark berries but finishes with a touch of warmth and slightly edgy acidity. This will hold up but I'm not sure it will become more harmonious.

the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Erna Schein Herrick-Moulds has blueberry and blackberry fruit, minerality, a hint of white flowers, an unctuous texture (in keeping with the B & H style), full body and loads of fruit and purity. This is a hedonistic, lush, heavy Cabernet Sauvignon that is drinking beautifully at age ten, but will certainly keep for at least another decade.

(blended with 5% petit verdot) Good bright ruby-red. Musky aromas of raspberry, tobacco, violet and mint. Juicy and penetrating in the mouth, with spicy, highly aromatic raspberry, blackberry, chocolate and rose petal flavors. Lively more than fleshy despite its 15.2% alcohol. With a minty lift to the cabernet, this offers a light touch. May merit an even higher score with a couple years of cellaring.

Medium ruby. Aromatic nose combines currant, iron, mocha and pepper. Sweet, silky and pliant, with a captivating sugar/acid balance. This really vibrates on the palate. Finishes with suave tannins and terrific sappy, peppery length. This has the suavity and balance to age gracefully for a decade or more.
