Tasting notes
(14.9% alcohol): Medium ruby-red. Lively aromas and flavors of blueberry, licorice, herbs and minerals are lifted by a violet topnote. Quite primary and youthful in the mouth, an element of bitter chocolate adding another element. Not a fleshy style but intense and penetrating, with a firm spine to support a very slow evolution in the cellar: this fruit won't fade anytime soon. Finishes with serious building tannins that still need a few years to soften. I recall that this wine was edgy in the early going but it's coming into sync 2016.

Bright, full ruby-red. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, licorice and fresh herbs, along with a whiff of band-aid. Juicy, spicy and a bit tart-edged, with a distinctly wound-up character to the blackberry and licorice flavors. Finishes with firm, slightly drying tannins.
