Tasting notes
The 2021 Pinot Noir La Source comes from vines planted in 1995 and 1996. Fermented with around 30% whole clusters, it has pure, intense aromas of strawberry and raspberry jam, orange oil, tobacco and Angostura bitters. The medium-bodied palate features detailed, perfumed flavors. It’s framed by chalky tannins and bright acidity and has a long, nuanced finish.

The 2021 Pinot Noir La Source is a total pleasure on the nose, with a flower shop bouquet and masses of crushed blackberry and sweet smoke that keep me coming back to the glass again and again. It displays fantastic balance, with ripe wild berry fruits and hints of sour citrus that flow across silken textural waves. Fine-grained tannins combine with a saline concentration as residual acidity puckers the cheeks through the long and classically structured finale. The 2021 is a gorgeous interpretation of the vintage.
