Score 92/100 · Drink 2026-2032, Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2024

Remarkably pretty and floral, the 2017 Pinot Noir La Source bursts from the glass with a blend of dusty roses, violets, lavender, and hints of chalk dust, all complementing a core of ripe blackberry. This is zesty and racy in style, with brisk acidity motivating depths of ripe red and blue fruits as crunchy mineral tones saturate toward the close. The 2017 tapers off with a flower shop of inner perfume, leaving a tinge of edgy tannins as notes of spiced orange and wild blueberries slowly fade. Cellaring is still required to achieve structural harmony.

The 2017 Pinot Noir La Source has a medium ruby-purple color and aromas of cranberry sauce, crushed blackberries and raspberries with notes of Earl Grey tea leaves, saline, dusty perfume, granite and floral perfume. The medium-bodied palate bursts with perfectly ripe fruits, gently framed and super juicy, finishing long and perfumed.
