The 2019 Pinot Noir Roman Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1999 at 1,150 feet in elevation at the cooler north end of the Anderson Valley. It has a medium ruby color and pure scents of cranberries, cast iron, potpourri, aniseed, mushroom and burnt orange peel. The medium-bodied palate is silky and seamless, with layer after layer of amaro-laced flavors that fan across the palate and drive the persistent finish. 210 cases were made.

A lovely spicy nose of cardamom and coriander with notes of plum and ripe red cherry. Medium-bodied with a clear and delicious through-line of vanilla cream, which lightens some of the spice and ripe fruit. Tight tannins. Refreshing, dry finish. Drink or hold.
